Man Day 2009 Game Events & Schedule

Below is the events as well as the schedule of when and what teams will be playing first, etc.

There will be three categories of games with 13 games total.

Group Games: These are games that EVERYONE plays at the SAME time to put the pressure on others. There are three of them. They will be played at the start of the day, halftime while eating pizza, and the last event of the day.

Group Games
Flip Cups
Pitching
Free Throws

Tournament Games: There are 5 tournament games. This means that if you win you advance to the next round, etc. You should always try to play these games FIRST since the tournament games will last the longest and we want to keep them going. The below schedule will show the first two games that each team will play. Once those games have been played the rest of the schedule will obviously be based on the tournament and which team is winning and advancing, etc.

Tournament Games
Darts
Bags
Wa-Shoes
Horseshoes
Wii Bowling

Individual Games: These are the games that can be played at ANYTIME. Some of them are games in which you'll play another team (I have already randomly chosen out of a hat...see schedule) and others are ones that you will be playing on your own. If you are not in a tournament game or are waiting for a tournament game you should go and play one of the individual games.

Individual Games
Foozball
Beer Pong
Football Accuracy
Hockey
3-Point

Man Day 2009 Beer

A direct quote from an older black man standing in line as I was buying this beer at the Supermarket...

"Holy Crap. That is a lot of beer. Have fun."

Man Day 2009 Scouting Report

Team A

Mike Robinson: An original co-founder of the 12 Bars of X-Mas. He is an all around player. He will do well in the sports games. Grew up playing baseball so pitching could be his better event. Also a great Flip Cup and Beer Pong player with the help of his years at Westfield State and Network Plus Parties.

Rod Coffin: Another player that will do well in all events but strong events would be basketball events, horseshoes, football accuracy, and pitching. Only downfall could be getting drunk too early so if you want to beat him keep feeding him beers.

Team B

Andy Manchester: Like most players in Man Day he is good all around with the events. Played in floor hockey league so will do well in hockey. Also has his own horseshoe pits so should do well in this event.

Steve Agostino: He is the type of person that is very good at all sports. Can pick up anything very quickly and do well at it. Strengths will be pitching, football accuracy, and basketball. Also loves beers.

Team C

Bobby Pelletier: All the pressure will be on Bobby to perform in Hockey since probably the only ex-Hockey player we have in the group. Solid performer in all other events. Loves drinking so drinking games he'll do well in.

Todd McCauley: In my opinion one of the "potentially" most feared players in the Man Day competitions. Once again I say "potentially". If the "Old" McCauley comes which I'm sure he will...look out. I've NEVER seen anyone that could put down more beers/drinks than McCauley and still function. He will not only be able to drink 73 beers and do well with the drinking games but also will excel in basketball, football accuracy, pitching, and horseshoes.

Team D

Chad Norton: He will be like the John Daly of Man Day. He will look the most out of shape but has the potential to turn things on and dominate. As long as he doesn't have a heart attack and eats enough pizza he will do fine at darts, horseshoes, foozball, and will do very well in a lot of the sports games.

Jim Downing: Overall probably the best teammate you could get. Not only will he be guaranteed to beat the two Downing boys' teams whenever he plays them due to what I call the "Jim Factor" but he will also be great at drinking games, pitching, darts, and horseshoes.

Team E

John Prendergast: Overall another person that can do each game well. Strong points will be the fact that he'll most likely show up to Man Day drunk and still continue to drink more than anyone. Strong points will be basketball, drinking games, darts, foozball, and horseshoes.

Derek Hamilton: He will have the benefit of youth. He will be good all around. Haven't seen him play a lot of the events but I know he is good at sports so should do well. Also loves to play drinking games so will do fine in the Beer Pong and Flip Cups games.

Team F

Mike Doolan: The most feared "average" player of Man Day. With the exception of foozball and flip cups (in his 15 year career in flip cups has a 1.3 flip avg.), he won't be a superstar in anything but is average at everything. Once he drinks more he stops thinking as much and gets better. I apologize for writing in the 3rd person in this section.

Sean O’Connell: Very similar to his partner Mike Doolan. He won't be a superstar in anything but is average at everything. When looking at Man Day the best teams will be the ones that have two people that can be good (don't have to be great) at everything (sorry...throwing in a plug for our team). Sean's strengths will be horseshoes, bags, wa-shoes, and basketball.

Team G

Bruce Kirkland: He will be the sleeper of Man Day and could come out of nowhere. I've seen glimpses of the greatness of Bruce and his strengths will be the sports related games. I believe he'll do well in pitching, football accuracy, and basketball.

JD Fier: As long as Bruce doesn't choke you can basically give the bags tournament to JD. Not only does he make them but he is also the best at them. He was also a quarterback in HS so should so well in football accuracy. Overall good at sports games. Downfall (as with most) will be foozball.

Team H

Todd Downing: If you are arm wrestling you want him on your team but if you are playing flip cups...run away and run fast. Unlike Mike Doolan with a 1.3 flip avg. Todd's is closer to 27.4* flip avg. I put an "*" next to his average since honestly there have been games that have had to stop before he was even able to flip it so his average could be higher. All kidding aside he'll be one of the stronger players of Man Day. Strong events will be darts, foozball, and basketball.

Keith Arsenault: Overall another person that can play all events well. Weaknesses would be basketball but will do well in all drinking games, foozball, horseshoes, etc. We will also crush anyone with his pinky so he has that going for him as well.

Team I

Eric Burns: Eric is a really good athlete. He is a pitcher so will do well in pitching and football accuracy. He should also do well in the basketball events. He will be an average player and do well in all other events. He doesn't look as good as his girlfriend when playing "strip" flip cups but he'll do fine with the drinking games.

Tom McDonnell: One of the most fundamentally sound players. He will be Mr. Consistent in all events and hates to lose so you know he'll take everything serious up until the last points are given. His strong points will be basketball, football accuracy, drinking games, and pitching.

Team J

Mike Harrington: The master of the bar and drinking games. Too bad there isn't a pool table at my house but should do well with all the drinking games, darts, and games like horseshoes/bags, etc. He is overall good at sports so should be a well rounded player.

Josh Downing: He will be good in a lot of the events but surprisingly I feel one sport he'll do well in will be foozball. He has actually become a very good foozball player during his drunken bar games career. By far one of the better basketball players so should do well in those events. He'll do well in pitching and football accuracy. He could definitely be in a playoff for the worst sport award with Mike Doolan since he hates to lose.
